A simple homemade coffee syrup made with brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla that’s perfect for cozy fall coffee drinks.
1 cup water
1 cup brown sugar
1 cinnamon stick (or 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of saltStep 1: Add the water, brown sugar, cinnamon stick (or ground cinnamon), and salt to a heavy-bottom saucepan.
Step 2: Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has dissolved.
Step 3: Continue simmering for 8–10 minutes, or until the mixture has reduced slightly and taken on a light syrup consistency.
Step 4: Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Step 5: Allow the syrup to cool completely before transferring it to a glass jar or bottle.
