Soft homemade flour tortillas made with simple pantry ingredients. Perfect for tacos, wraps, burritos, and freezer meals.
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup warm water
Step 1: In a large mixing bowl combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Step 2: Add the melted butter and warm water. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for 5–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Step 3: Cover the dough and let rest for 15 minutes.
Step 4: Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and roll each into a smooth ball.
Step 5: Cover again and allow the dough balls to rest another 15 minutes.
Step 6: On a lightly floured surface, flatten each ball and roll very thin.
Step 7: Heat a skillet over medium heat.
Step 8: Cook each tortilla for about 30-60 seconds per side, flipping as soon as bubbles appear.
Step 9: Transfer finished tortillas to a plate and keep covered with a damp towel until ready to serve.
