The best classic waffle recipe—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and easy to make from scratch. Perfect homemade waffles for breakfast or brunch, buttery and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp cane sugar
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt I use Redmond Real Salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/3 cup warm milk
  • 8 tbsp salted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat your waffle iron

2. In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Whisk together.

3. In a separate bowl mix together, eggs, warm milk, melted butter and vanilla.

4. Combine wet and dry ingredients and scoop about 1/2 cup into your greased waffle iron until nice and golden brown.

5. Enjoy with butter & maple syrup, powdered sugar & fruit, jam, gravy and chicken (it’s a PA Dutch thing) or my husband’s favorite, butter and brown sugar!
